While the populations in the big cities continue to grow along with the consumption level. A new disease associated so far with South East Asia, has come to Latin America, becoming a new scourge for the shrimp aquaculture industry. The occurrence of white spot disease in shrimp culture seems to be increasing every year. The establishment of effective precautionary measures is urgently needed. This article reviews various methods advocated to prevent its occurrence.
